Spring Orchestral Concert
The Northumberland Orchestral Society’s programme will include the Gaelic Suite by Amy Beach and the Brahms double concerto with soloists Kyra Humphreys, violin, and her son Seth, cello. Kyra is co-leader of the Royal Northern Sinfonia. Seth recently graduated from Clare College, Cambridge, and was principal cello in the Cambridge University Sinfonia and Opera Orchestra, Seth begins a Master’s degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama this September. Refreshments available in the interval, in the Church Hall.

Music for the Pool: An American Concert
American music from the 19th and 20th centuries, performed by Jane Jackson (Soprano), Rita Fallon (Mezzo Soprano), Les Hodgson (Tenor), Kevyn Gill (Bass), John McCauley (Bass) and Len Young (Piano).
Tickets (£10) available at Jesmond Pool, Jesmond Library, or at the door, in aid of Jesmond Pool and Gym and St Oswald’s Hospice. Refreshments available.
The crowded programme will include Kevyn singing Ol’ Man River and Some Enchanted Evening, Len playing the Maple Leaf Rag, Rita singing Smoke Gets in Your Eyes and Climb Every Mountain, Les singing Younger than Springtime and I Got Rhythm and Jane singing Summertime. An evening packed with memories!

Concert by the North East Recorder Orchestra. Come and experience recorders in an orchestra, from small to very large instruments. The programme will range from early music, including Handel, to Gershwin and Joplin, and much more, to delight everyone.
